Henry Grant Kerswell
Bass

Henry trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSC).

​

 He is a proud alumni of the Britten-Pears Young Artist Program, Opera Holland Park Young Artists and a founder member of the Grange Park Opera Emerging Artists.

​

 Since debuting at Opera Holland Park he has gone on to sing with a wide range of companies at many houses, such as, Scottish Opera, Wexford Festival Opera, Opera North, Birmingham Opera Company,  Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Opera de Bauge, Bury Court Opera, Carl Rosa Opera, Fulham Opera, The National Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company, Opera UpClose, Bergen National Opera, English Touring Opera.

​

 Roles performed include:

  Don Alfoso, Cosi Fan Tutte, Hans Foltz, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg , Sarastro, Die Zauberflote, Antonio, Le Nozze di Figaro,  Superintendent Budd, Albert Herring, Simone, Gianni Schicchi , Narumov, Pique Dame, Dr Bartolo Le Nozze di Figaro + Il barbiere di Siviglia, Snug, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Sparafucille, Rigoletto, Angelotti, Tosca, Dr Grenvil, La Traviata, Tenebrun, Don Quichotte, Mr Hatfield, Dinner at Eight.

​

Concert Venues have included Cape Town City Hall, St Pauls Cathedral London,The Royal Albert Hall, The Queen Elizabeth Hall and Festival Hall (London Southbank), The Usher Hall Edinburgh and Harrogate Royal Hall.

​

 Henry was an Original Cast member playing Don Atillio in Cameron Macintosh's new International Touring production of The Phantom of the Opera.

​

 He has trained with several voice teachers of note including Sherrill Milnes, Laura Sati, Robert Dean and is currently a member of Pamela Kuhnes studio.
